How long did all this take? Atlantis has been more or less steadily ongoing since the beginning of 1996. This section of the web gives you some idea of the progress along the way. Although I didn't keep good records of what was happening in the early days (This was before the web was popular, remember), store receipts - notably Home Depot - give a pretty clear picture.

1996		Early work: Concrete floor plumbing work, two sewage pump basins.
1997		Structural work; Steel beam reinforcement, lally column removal and repositioning. Rerouting heating ducts Subfloor leveling and raising, and installing.
1998		Drywall finishing. Bathroom shower floor mud job. Hardwood (Birdseye maple) floor laying
